In fulfilling its mission, the Christian Leadership Network pursues five strategic initiatives:
- Provision of Continuing Education Opportunities (both undergraduate and Masters) in SW Virginia. Through a partnership established in fall 2006 with the John Leland Center, our aim is to “bring the campus to you”, providing convenient and affordable study options in locations more available to persons in the region.
- Ministry can be a lonely calling. Peer Networking can ease those feelings of being out there on your own while providing opportunities to be refreshed and learn from others. A major strategy for the Network is the formation of affinity groups, allowing those involved in ministry to share with and learn from those dealing with similar needs and issues.
- Life Coaching for ministers and lay leaders.
- Leadership Resourcing. Along with an Internet website, the Network distributes a periodic e-mail update, Quick Bits , to ministers and lay leaders. In addition to information about upcoming events, the update provides leader training items.
- The Network, periodically, offers Workshops and Conferences dealing with personal needs and topics related to the “nuts and bolts” of church ministry.
