Course Description This course will seek to engage and research the historical, biblical, and theological writings of John (Gospel of John, Epistles of John, Revelation of John). We will investigate the context of each of these writings, discuss the literary styles and significant themes of each, and note the theology of the writings of John in the New Testament.

From time to time, the instructor may recommend additional readings to supplement the text. These will be made available to you by the instructor.
For students new to writing term papers, A Student’s Guide for Writing College Papers by Kate L. Turabian (University of Chicago Press, Chicago, Illinois. 1976) is a very helpful resource.
Course Requirements:
All papers should be typed, line spaced at 1 ½ or double, with the size of the type face no greater than 12 points if it is Times Roman (Arial type at no more than 11 points). Times Roman type is preferred. Margins should be no greater that 1.25” on all sides. Any other style and formatting should follow the Turabian style manual.
Please refer to the handout on the research paper for further requirements. While the primary focus in grading these papers will be content, spelling and grammar will also be part of their evaluation.
