About the Network
It's still the one word that best describes the essence of leadership—influence. Truth is, any one of us is a leader when we attempt to influence the thoughts or actions of someone in our home, family, church, workplace, or community. The only question is whether our influence is godly and Biblical.
The crying need of our culture today is for Christian leaders to step forward. God is seeking those who will encourage, support, and guide others to realize the God-given potential they have for making a difference in their corner of the world. That is God's call to all believers, to all parents, all in the workplace, all church members. By virtue of God's call on our life, you and I are to be difference makers, influencers, servant leaders who will invest ourselves in the lives of others. It is on that vision that the Christian Leadership Network is established.

Investing in the Network
As a non-profit ministry, Christian Leadership Network program funds (student scholarships, instructor stipends, peer-learning groups, life coaching, and workshops) are provided, exclusively, by the generosity of Kingdom donors. Because salaries and benefits are provided by the Virginia Baptist Mission Board, all donor funds received assist with scholarships and programming needs.
Donations can be mailed to:

History
Establishment of the Christian Leadership Network (then Southwest Virginia Christian Leadership Network) began with a group of ministers from the Roanoke Valley Baptist Association meeting in 2003.
This group, chaired by Dr. Robert Moore, pastor of Bonsack Baptist Church, was convinced of the need for a program of continuing education and leader training for ministers and laypersons in the Southwest region of Virginia. Their vision was to bring the campus to students rather than asking students to come to the campus. The outcome, in partnership with the Baptist General Association of Virginia, was creation of the Network on December 1, 2004.
Dr. Gary Chapman was selected in December 2004 as the Director and the office for the Network was located in Roanoke, Virginia.
